West Liberty Football to Host Wheeling Saturday Night
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference today announced several adjustments to the upcoming spring football schedule which will impact the West Liberty football team.
The league was forced to make the changes to the remaining schedule for the MEC's North Division squads following Fairmont State's decision to opt out of the season due to COVID-19 protocols. As a result, the remaining five teams in the North Division are now scheduled to complete a four-game, round-robin schedule.
The Hilltoppers will now host Wheeling on Saturday with Notre Dame (Ohio) traveling to Alderson Broaddus. Both games are set for 6 p.m. kickoffs.
West Liberty will now have an open date on April 10 when Alderson Broaddus is scheduled to travel to Frostburg State while Wheeling hosts Notre Dame (Ohio). The Hilltoppers are scheduled to complete the abbreviated regular season on April 17 at home against Frostburg State.
The MEC championship game between the North and South Division champions has been scheduled for the following week.
