Fans Upset After NHL Winter Classic Ran Out Of Food And Beer

The Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks walk on to the field to play in the 2019 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Notre Dame Stadium

While the 78,126 fans who showed up to watch the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Boston Bruins during the 2019 Winter Classic at Notre Dame Stadium got to enjoy a great hockey game, they likely left the stadium hungry and thirsty. Before the start of the second period, many fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration because the stadium had run out of food and beer

One fan shared a photo of a refrigerator that only had a few bottles of water left.

@NHL at one of the many food stands @NotreDame has where they have ran out of everything except water #WinterClassic #WorstWinterClassic @NHL please host at a university that is prepared for this amount of people

Other fans complained about waiting in long lines for pretzels and other snacks.

The issues did not end with the game as the large number of fans in attendance created major traffic jams as people tried to head home.

The NHL announced after the game that next year's Winter Classic will take place in Dallas, where hopefully officials have enough food and beer on hand for the large crowd.
