The NFL is planning to punish the New England Patriots after a cameraman was caught filming the Cincinnati Bengals' sideline during a game.

The cameraman, who was supposed to filming a documentary about the game-day activities of the team's scouts, reportedly recorded the Bengals players and coaches. He shot eight minutes of footage, which included coaches calling plays. The Patriots denied that they hired the cameraman to spy on the Bengals, and he was suspended. He claimed he had no intention of sharing the footage with the team and offered to delete it when confronted by security.

While the league has found no evidence linking the Patriot's football operations to the incident, ESPN's Adam Schefter said that the NFL determined the Patriots committed a game-day violation. The league is expected to announce the punishment in January. The team could face a hefty fine and potentially lose a draft pick.
