Butler Placed on NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches has announced academic award recipients for the 2021-22 school year. West Liberty University's Bryce Butler has earned a spot on the honors court.

Butler, a junior guard, produced both on and off the court this past year for WLU. He excelled as a sport management major on the hilltop to secure a spot on the NABC Honors Court for the first time in his career.

The Latrobe, Pa. native is the first men's basketball player on the honors court since a trio of hilltoppers were selected in 2017-18.

To be a member of the honors court, student-athletes must be listed on the 2021-22 men's basketball varsity roster, be a junior, senior, or graduate student in academic standing, and maintain a cumulative gpa of 3.2 or higher.

The NABC's academic awards include honorees from all levels of college basketball. Over 2,000 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and over 300 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2021-22.
