Fort Bend County Commissioners Approve Fair Redistricted Map By 3-2 Vote

As expected, Fort Bend County Commissioners approved a new and fair redistricted map by a final vote of 3-2.

Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers said in a statement, "Today Commissioners Court took action to correct what had been a flawed process that resulted in an illegal map that did not meet state and federal statutes. Today’s action/decision also more fairly reflects the political makeup of Fort Bend County voters - roughly 50% Republican and 50% Democrat."

FBC Judge KP George, a former Democrat and now a Republican, was the deciding vote.

"This is, I believe, a fair 2-2 map, and nobody is losing anything here by doing this. Both parties" George said at the end of the hearing.

Nobody is losing anything, although the Dems appeared to be losing their minds, with Democrat Dexter McCoy, resorting to the race card.

"We are diluting their votes, all so that we can have another precinct where white voters represent a plurality. That is not progress" McCoy said, while refusing to acknowledge his role in the now infamous Fort Bend County con job 4 years ago.

Back in 2021, under the guise of Covid, Democrats rammed through a 3-1 map without any transparency, or input from the public. Republicans today righted that wrong.

"All we tried to do is get it back to the 2-2 balance" said Dr. Bobby Eberle, Fort Bend County GOP Chair, "So, Precinct's 1 & 3 will be Republican, and Precincts 2 & 4 will be Democrat."
