Rich Davis: “Robert Saleh. As a fan, I was pumped. Who cares what I think? When you’re hearing the rumors that he might return as the 49ers defensive coordinator, and then it happens, is that your guy? Is that a nice reunion?”
Fred Warner: “Unbelievable. I can’t even speak to how amazing that is, because of how much Coach Saleh mean to me in my progression as a young player. From the moment I got drafted to starting me as a young rookie who had never played off the ball linebacker before, sticking with me through rough patches of that rookie season, and me being able to ascend in this league. I’m so grateful to him for what he’s given me.”
Steve Covino: “He seems like such a good dude. What are your thoughts when you saw how he was treated and what went on with the Jets and everything?”
Fred Warner: “You know, I’m sure I’ll get more information when I sit down and talk with him, but obviously I’m just excited that he’s back. However that all unfolded, he’s back with us.”
