West Liberty Net Squads Prep for MEC Tournament

   

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's tennis teams have qualified for the Mountain East Conference tournament with both squads set to open post-season play Saturday afternoon in Charleston.

Coach Heather Gallagher's Lady Hilltoppers earned the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 2 seed Charleston in a noon semifinal at the Schoenbaum Courts. Top-seeded West Virginia State and No. 4 seed Fairmont State meet at 9:30 a.m. in the tournament lid-lifter.

Men's semifinal action follows later that afternoon with Coach Ronnie Hulewicz's No. 4 seeded West Liberty squad going up against No. 1 seed Charleston at 2:30 p.m. West Virginia Wesleyan, the No. 2 seed, and No. 3 seed Fairmont State close out the semifinal round in a 5 p.m. match. The MEC women's championship match will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. The men's championship is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
