Lady Hilltoppers Release 2021 Soccer Slate
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Coach Barry Christmas’ West Liberty University women’s soccer team kicks off the 2021 season on Sept. 2 when they host Seton Hill (Pa.) in a non-conference season opener.
The Lady Hilltopper schedule features two non-conference matches, 10 Mountain East Conference North Division matches and six against MEC South Division opponents.
“We are thrilled to be back playing a traditional fall season,” Christmas said. “We are excited for the opportunity to once again play a full 18-game slate.”
West Liberty’s second non-conference match comes on Sept. 8 against Salem (W.Va.) at the West Family Athletic Complex before conference play begins on Sept. 15 when the Hilltoppers travel to Notre Dame (Ohio). Following that trip to South Euclid, the Black and Gold play four of their next five matches at home to close out the first half of the season.
October will be a busy month with 11 matches on the Lady Hilltoppers’ slate, beginning with an Oct. 2 return match against Notre Dame (Ohio) at the West Family Athletic Complex.
West Liberty wraps up its October schedule with back-to-back South Division matches at Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan before closing out the regular season against North Division foes Davis & Elkins (Nov. 3) and Wheeling (Nov. 6).
The MEC Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 8-14.
“The conference schedule is always a competitive one,” Christmas said. “Having the opportunity to play our fellow North Division teams twice creates an exciting rivalry atmosphere, while the South Division matches provide an enjoyably diverse range of opponents.”
