Oglebay Institute is proud to present the Bridge + Tunnel Music Collective’s 7th annual holiday revue! This year’s concert will take place on Saturday, December 6th, beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Towngate Theatre, 2118 Market Street in Wheeling. This year’s event is sponsored by the Wheeling Arts & Cultural Commission. Tickets are $10 and proceeds this year benefit the Friends and Family Organization (FAFO). The FAFO is a grassroots nonprofit organization of local folks who are focused on continued flood disaster recovery efforts.
The Bridge & Tunnel Collective is a group of local musicians, bands and artists working together to build the infrastructure for a thriving music scene. “A Very Bridge + Tunnel Christmas” shows have grown over the years into must-see holiday events, and the Collective has raised money for several local charities.
Towngate proudly supports live music in Wheeling. Some of the region’s most versatile and entertaining musicians perform on the Towngate stage on select weekends throughout the year. This year, Towngate Theatre’s stage will host many musical acts, including Ananga Martin, JVD Music, Zoe Bucella, Isaiah Keez, Mr. Fancy Pants, Stone Church Video, and Wilhelm and the Screams just to name a few. All of these bands are local to the Ohio Valley who will play holiday-themed songs, both covers and originals.
The event is composed of two acts: The first act will feature lighter acts with a folk flair, followed by an intermission in which guests are invited to visit Towngate Theatre’s concessions. Soft drinks, water, beer, and wine are available there for purchase. Guests can also enjoy free treats, including cookies and brownies, along with juices and other snacks, specially chosen for any younger guests, or those just young at heart.
After intermission, guests are invited back for the second act. To begin, the Bridge + Tunnel will invite an FAFO representative to the stage and present them with the evening’s charitable contribution. Following that recognition, the second act will kick things off with homespun rock acts and a few fun surprises.
