WHEELING, W.Va. (April 11) - The Cardinals were dealt a pair of losses in the second doubleheader with Fairmont State Sunday in Mountain East Conference (MEC) play at the JB Chambers I-470 Complex.

The Wheeling University baseball team (15-8, 11-5 MEC) lost the opener 6-2, before falling 5-2 to the Falcons (8-16, 6-10 MEC) in the series finale.

Senior third baseman Luis Dominguez (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) led the Cardinals with two hits and a run scored in the game one loss. Senior right fielder Hayden Hizer (Paden City, W.Va./Paden City) had the lone Cardinal RBI in the game.

Wheeling trailed 1-0 in the fourth inning of game two, when senior Chris Iazetta (Clinton, N.J./IMG Academy) launched a 2-0 pitch over the left field fence to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead.

Fairmont State responded with a four-run fifth inning to reclaim the lead, before holding on for the win.
