The Los Angeles Clippers confirmed that they have released their all-time assist leader, Chris Paul, last night and sent him home from Atlanta where they are scheduled to play the Hawks tonight. DP and the Danettes consider what may have precipitated the move and what’s next for the aging superstar.
Dan Patrick: “He was coming off the bench, and he wasn't really doing much for the Clippers, and they're not going anywhere. You know, Ty Lue is probably trying to hold on to his job there. The Clippers are a mess but, I mean, in the middle of the night you say to Chris, ‘Hey, we're going to release you.’ Now, does he get his own, you know, plane home or does he go commercial? Like, how's that work for Chris Paul? We're going to help you moving forward. How are you going to help him moving forward? He'd probably go into broadcasting, I'm guessing, but that's a what, 20, 21, 22-year career. I guess he could latch on to somebody, but he wasn't doing much for the Clippers.”
