A Covington woman is charged with vehicular homicide after a car crash last month that killed her eight-year-old passenger.
Louisiana State Police say toxicology tests indicated Candace Leblanc was driving while impaired at the time of the accident.
Police say Leblanc ran off the road on State Highway 40 in St. Tammany Parish and hit a tree. Leblanc was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries.
Jewel Leger, her front-seat passenger, was unrestrained and died at the scene. Leger was reportedly Leblanc's daughter.
