RPD Officers Shoot, Kill Attacking Dog

Rochester police say they had to fatally shoot a dog at a home on the city's north side.

They say the dog had attacked several people inside a Laforce Street home early this morning, including a 1-year-old baby.

The people inside were able to lock the dog out, and police were able to get them out of the house through a window.

Officers opened fire on the dog after it tried to climb over a makeshift barricade.

The baby and a 20-year-old woman were treated at the hospital for bite wounds, and two others were treated for scratch wounds all are expected to recover.
