Laughing at Ourselves

I enjoy standup comedy. Good comedians are insightful and can even bring out humor in very serious things. I respect that. It’s keen observation and a glint of irreverence that make that skill what it is. It led me to a question this morning. Can we laugh at ourselves? Or, is doing so a slight at those who are different from us? Should we be doomed to perpetual victimhood and strife, or is living more joyfully a better option? I’ll take B, thank you.

We’ll begin the day there. From that point on it’s up to you on this Wide Open Wednesday. Oh, I have more, but we have this day each week to give you the chance to bring up things on your mind that I may not be considering.

For me it’s theme park deaths and the state not taking a strong role, restoring gun rights to adult Floridians, safety in our schools, Democratic congressional veterans urging military members to defy their oaths, the economy and the Epstein files. Congress has voted to release them and sent the bill to the president.

Let’s see where a Wide Open Wednesday takes us.
