Meet River …
This adorable two-year-old pup was found in a dog park in Akron. It’s uncertain whether he made his way there or was left behind. River was brought to Summit County Animal Control feeling concerned, but he's doing better now. It’s common for dogs accustomed to a home and a couch to become fearful in a loud, sterile, and intimidating shelter environment.
River is a true Heinz-57, meaning this young boy is a mix of many breeds. In fact, you can’t even identify a single breed! Still, we think he’s beautiful, and mutts are among the best. They are often healthier because mixing breeds can help eliminate some of the inherent weaknesses of purebreds.
Weighing about 40 pounds, River is considered a medium-sized dog and won’t grow any larger. He’s past the troublesome puppy stages and, at an estimated age of 2, he’s now considered an adult. So, what you see is what you get!
Gotta love those ears and those little black eyes. Fully vetted, this boy is ready to go home. Could he be going home with you?
